    APA Adoption Center

Who they are:The Animal Protective Association of Missouri is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond. They strive to go above and beyond pet adoption and really help their community as a whole. APA’s Pet Partners Program helps pets who live in under-resourced communities get the veterinary care they need via mobile delivery of vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, flea/tick preventative, and emergency veterinary care.

“In times of crisis, the APA provides essential resources, such as pet food and supplies. These intake diversion activities ultimately help keep pets and their people together. As the Covid-19 crisis grips St. Louis, the APA’s community outreach work is crucial,” Mandy Pratt, APA’s development manager said. “Pet Partners has been temporarily modified to respond to the community’s needs while still maintaining community health and safety through social distancing. Our Outreach Coordinator has been working to increase access to resources, such as food, litter and emergency vet care. While our low-cost vet clinic is currently closed, outreach clients are able to get the veterinary help they need working through our Pet Partners initiative. With a grant from Adopt-A-Pet.com we will be able to provide high-quality, long-lasting flea & tick preventative collars to dogs and cats who need it most.”
